The monthly reporting cycle at most groups consumes several days of skilled time: requests out, spreadsheets back, formats reconciled, figures queried, pack assembled. It produces information that is already three weeks old.
We generate the same reports from live data on a schedule, in the format the business already recognises. The people who spent those days on assembly spend them on the exceptions instead.
We keep the old process running in parallel for at least one cycle and reconcile the two, because a new report that disagrees with the familiar one is assumed wrong until proven otherwise, and rightly so.
