Deviation reporting is inconsistent across sites in the way that matters most: what counts as a deviation. One plant reports every process excursion, another only those that affected product, and the group total is meaningless.
We agree the threshold once and apply it everywhere, capture deviations with the process data around them, and track root cause and closure rather than logging and forgetting. Repeat deviations are flagged as repeats, which is the single most useful thing this data can do.
Sites that report more deviations after implementation are usually the ones now reporting honestly, and treating that as a deterioration destroys the system within a quarter.
