Waste reporting is where documentation and reality diverge most often. A manifest says a consignment went to an authorised facility. What arrived, and what that facility did with it, is usually unverified.
We track generation by stream and by site, segregation compliance, disposal route and recovery rate, with the chain of custody documentation retained against each consignment. Hazardous and biomedical streams carry their own statutory trail and are handled separately.
For groups making circularity claims, the weak point is almost always the recovery rate: a percentage asserted by a downstream processor and accepted without evidence.
