Plants accumulate monitoring across decades and vendors. Before anything new is specified, someone has to establish what the existing systems can actually give up — which is rarely what the brochure claimed.
We assess what is installed, test what it genuinely exports rather than what it is documented to, and identify what is worth integrating against what should be replaced. Occasionally the finding is that a system nobody trusts is fine and only its configuration is wrong, which is the cheapest possible outcome.
