ZLD is mandated in some sectors and adopted voluntarily in others, and its economics are dominated by evaporation energy — which is dominated by how much water actually reaches the evaporator.
We assess feasibility on measured effluent volume and composition rather than design figures, evaluate the pre-concentration steps that determine the running cost, and review existing installations against what they were promised. Where segregating a stream at source would avoid most of the evaporation load, we say so, even though it means a smaller scheme.
